Broadwas Village Hall Needs You
Broadwas Village Hall desperately needs the support of its community not only by attending events, but also getting involved in the hall management and running.
Recently the Management Committee has been running at basic capacity with only 5 members. The impact of this means there is too much work and not enough hands, meaning some of the tasks have had to be outsourced to contractors. This not only impacts on the running of the hall, but the cost for customers as well. We want to try and keep costs as low as possible to ensure the hall is affordable, however, this is more difficult as we increase the reliance on outsourcing.
The Management Committee is also at a crisis point whereby there are not enough members to form the Quorum needed to make decisions. Without this the Management Committee cannot function. This means the hall cannot function and we are then at risk of losing this community asset.

The Hall Needs You
- Are you looking for Business Management opportunities or experience?
- Are you looking for Marketing and Advertising opportunities or experience?
- Are you looking for Book Keeping experience or maybe an accountant who would consider Pro Bono charity work?
Volunteer to do some of the jobs as a 'Friend of BVH':
- Could you help do odd jobs around the hall?
- Would you like to help manage the Facebook page or Website?
- Could you help keep the meeting minutes or help perform the secretary role?
- Could you run or organise an event like a 'Quiz Night' or 'Craft Fayre' on behalf of the Committee?
- Could you run or organise a children's events on behalf of the Committee?
- Could you help distribute leaflets and help advertise the Hall?
- Could you help the hall organise and offer a service to the community?
- Would you like to get involved with the Monthly Coffee Morning?
Join the Management Committee:
Certain individuals are not eligible to act as trustees. You will be ineligible if:
- You have an unspent conviction for an offence involving dishonesty or deception;
- You are currently declared bankrupt, subject to bankruptcy restrictions or an interim order;
- You have an individual voluntary arrangement to pay off debts with creditors;
- You are disqualified from being a company director; or
- You have previously been removed as a trustee by either the Charity Commission or the high court due to misconduct or mismanagement.
- Are under the age of 18.
The Management Committee includes three Elected members, five Representative member, and allows for two Co-Opted members

The Committee meet once a month, normally the second Tuesday of every month, however, this is flexible to suit all committee members. The only upfront commitment asked is that you try and attend these meetings as much as possible, but we appreciate not everyone will always be able to make them all. When voting you must be in attendance to hold a valid vote.
In these meetings you can then take on tasks as you wish on top of any role responsibility (where applicable). This could be running or helping to organise an event, researching something, organising a piece of work to be completed.
Representative members can be held by associated members if we need to make up numbers in this respect they can be treated as a last resort as a general seat on the Committee.
